Demand for bunkers almost doubles since start of war

The demand for bunkers is increasing in several European countries, including Portugal where some individual bunkers have already been built.
In Spain, demand has also increased. "We have seen a 90% increase in requests for quotes to build bunkers. I currently receive around 20 inquiries daily," says Fernando Diaz Llorente, CEO of Bunker Vip.
Recently, in the UK, a nuclear bunker in Yorkshire, used by the Royal Observer Corps during the Cold War, was sold for 35 thousand euros. The increased interest reflects fears of global crises and the growing demand for shielded spaces.
Germany is working on a proposal to increase the number of bunkers available to civilians, seeking public and private facilities that could be converted, if necessary, into bomb shelters.
On the table is the possibility of building structures where up to 5,000 people can be accommodated in a short space of time. Currently, there are now 579 public shelters with capacity for 480,000 people.
Switzerland, meanwhile, is looking to upgrade its old nuclear shelters, saying they could become a necessity in the future given the current global uncertainty, which began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Since the Cold War, the country has required at least one underground shelter for every new construction. In Finland and Sweden, the demand for underground shelters has also grown.
With the escalation of tension between Russia and European countries, it is normal for governments to start paying more attention to the population's security measures. However, this does not invalidate the fact that each person individually does their part.
