Private Bunker: Safety, Self-Sufficiency and Future Preparedness

The Bunker was designed and built to protect against chemical and radioactive contamination, hostile actions such as civil unrest, military operations, and much more.

It can be purchased and adapted to meet the needs of individuals, small communities of like-minded people, businesses, or even a group of family friends.

Apartments

The bunker can offer various layout options according to the client’s needs. It can be designed and built to accommodate up to 50 people. In its first version, it can be equipped with 10 apartments, each fully adapted and fitted with everything a family of four would require. The remaining rooms can be designated for staff. In a second version, the number of apartments can be reduced to six, with the largest one covering an area of 130 m².

Kitchenette

Each apartment can feature a fully equipped kitchenette with a dining table for four people, offering direct access to the bedroom and bathroom.

Bedroom

The bedroom can provide privacy and comfort, with the possibility of including a wardrobe area and a dedicated workspace.

Control & Comfort

Every detail can be tailored within the living areas to create a warm and homely environment. To ensure psychological wellbeing, each apartment can be equipped with virtual windows, displaying selected scenic views or, alternatively, offering a live feed of the outside environment through cameras installed around the bunker.

Total Living Area

Upon entering the bunker, you’ll find a long corridor providing access to several suites and rooms. At one end of the corridor, there can be a fully equipped dining room with a professional kitchen. At the other end, you may find a living room, a games room, and a fitness area.

Living Room

The social interaction between the bunker’s residents is considered crucial for their psychological wellbeing. At Portugal Bunkers & Shelters, every effort is made to provide the most comfortable environment possible for its occupants.

Freedom of Choice in Dining

You can choose to dine privately, preparing your own meals in the fully equipped kitchenette of your apartment, or join others in the shared dining area to enjoy meals together.

Relaxation Room

At the other end of the corridor, opposite the shared living room, there can be a spacious entertainment lounge, featuring large sofas and television screens. This is where you can spend your leisure time: socializing with friends, discussing various topics and strategies, staying up to date on global affairs, or simply watching movies.

Fitness
The room can be equipped with a pool table, tabletop and board games, as well as fitness equipment. Practicing sports is synonymous with health and, in certain situations, much more than a leisure activity — it can be a necessity. If the client wishes, the fitness area can be built in a separate space.

Technical Area
The technical area can be equipped with everything necessary for the proper operation of the bunker, including potable water treatment, an electricity generator, water tanks, fuel storage, air purification systems, storage areas, emergency air supply, and space for additional specialized equipment.

Server Room:
Just before entering the technical area, there can be a dedicated server room with proper ventilation, especially designed for companies that wish to securely store valuable data remotely.

Electricity Generator
The generator is designed to meet the entire bunker’s electrical needs in the event of an external power failure. Additional energy supply from a photovoltaic power plant can also be considered.

Fuel Storage

The bunker is equipped with a fuel storage area that serves the generator’s needs. Continuous fuel supply can be considered to guarantee uninterrupted operation.

Potable Water Purifier
Purifying drinking water is essential for the users, as is the availability of emergency water reserves. It’s advisable to ensure access to properly purified and filtered water that meets all potable water standards through our large-scale LifeSaver C2 purifier.

Air Purification:
To the right of the entrance is the room dedicated to air purification against chemical, biological, and radioactive agents. This can be done through a Swiss system, licensed by the Swiss Federal Civil Protection Service.

Emergency Air Supply:
Upon entering the technical room, to the left, there is a dedicated space for the emergency air supply system, which can be activated when necessary.

Is a Bunker Really Necessary, or Just an Unnecessary Investment?

Modern civilization is rapidly heading toward significant decline — or even total collapse. It can be anticipated that more economic, health, and social crises are on the way. Climate change is a serious trigger for the devastation of agricultural areas, floods, storms, and the destruction of vast regions and infrastructure. All this could inevitably lead to fuel shortages, food supply interruptions, and scarcity of other valuable resources, without which life in modern society would be unimaginable.

One should recognize that a power outage lasting more than a month in densely populated areas results in total anarchy, fights over food, and struggles for essential supplies. The capacity of the military and police is far too limited to deal with crises on such a scale. Only those who have prepared in advance can ensure their own survival and that of their loved ones.

When these events occur, it is often too late to act, regardless of financial power or social authority. For most people of high status and means, this is difficult to grasp — as in ‘good times’, everything seems optimistic and possibilities appear endless. It must be acknowledged that when critical events such as climate disasters, military actions, or social unrest occur, those endless possibilities vanish within a matter of hours — including the time for preparation. At that moment, everyone is leveled by the same difficulties, regardless of their pre-crisis capabilities.

Only those who have made serious preparations during peaceful times can remain calm and several steps ahead. That’s why it’s essential to have foresight, caution, and the ability to think ahead, without falling into the comfort trap of believing that a stable and comfortable life will last indefinitely.
