Product Description

The CBRN Protective Suit is protective equipment designed for use in environments where there is a risk of exposure to chemical contaminants, toxic agents, particles and other hazardous substances, in accordance with the applications indicated in the technical documentation provided.

The suit is manufactured using industrial brocade as the base fabric, coated with chlorinated butyl rubber. The material is subsequently laminated, vulcanised and formed to create a protective barrier.

The set includes a protective suit, gloves and boots, providing extended body coverage for operations requiring isolation from the external environment.

Chemical Properties and Environmental Resistance

Mustard Agent Resistance

Under the test conditions indicated in the technical documentation, the material shows:

Result: no permeation.

Test conditions: [Unverified] the original wording relating to the test conditions should be confirmed before publication.

Cold Resistance

Test conditions: exposure to -40 °C for 5 minutes, followed by bending through 180°.

Result: no cracking.

Acid and Alkali Resistance

The material is indicated as resistant to exposure to the following substances:

6N hydrochloric acid

6N sulphuric acid

Alkaline solution indicated in the technical documentation

Test conditions: approximately 36 °C ± 1 °C for 1 hour.

Result: no cracking.

Petrol Resistance

Test conditions: immersion in 120# petrol for 30 seconds.

Result: no cracking and no formation of sticky surfaces.

Hot-Air Ageing

Test conditions: 140 °C ± 2 °C for 8 hours.

Result: material remains non-sticky and non-brittle.

Applications

According to the documentation provided, the suit is intended for situations requiring protection against certain chemical and environmental contaminants, including:

Operations and tests associated with environments where there is a risk of CBRN contamination

Operations involving oxidising agents, incendiary agents and certain high-energy fuels

Loading, transfer and handling operations involving hazardous chemical substances

Environments with a risk of exposure to agents such as carbon monoxide, phosgene, sarin and mustard gas

Situations involving the presence of certain acids and alkalis

Environments with a risk of radioactive contamination

Operations requiring protection against dust, water, moisture and sand

The suitability of the suit for each specific agent should be confirmed through the technical documentation and the corresponding permeation tests before use.

Maintenance and Decontamination

After use, if the suit has come into contact with harmful agents or other contaminants, it should be decontaminated in accordance with the procedures applicable to the agent concerned.

According to the instructions provided:

After the operation, contaminated equipment should be immediately rinsed with a suitable neutralising solution and water.

The inside and outside should be completely dry before storage to reduce the risk of corrosion, deterioration or mould growth.

During use and cleaning, contact with sharp or abrasive objects that could cause mechanical damage should be avoided.

Before storage, a layer of talcum powder should be applied to the outer surface of the suit and gloves.

The equipment should be carefully folded and packed without excessive compression.

The storage area should be dry and free from organic solvent vapours.

Storage

Indicated storage life: 7 years.

The equipment should be kept:

In a dry environment

Protected from mechanical damage

Without excessive compression

Away from organic solvent vapours

Specific storage temperature and humidity conditions should be confirmed in the manufacturer's documentation
