Product Description

Nuclear CBRN Emergency Kit N-1

The CBRN Nuclear Emergency Kit from Portugal Bunkers & Shelters is a set of personal protective equipment designed for preparedness and response to nuclear, radiological, chemical or biological emergencies.

Designed to bring together different protective solutions in a compact, portable and functional format, it provides respiratory protection equipment, protective clothing and additional emergency preparedness accessories, organised in a 30-litre waterproof bag.

In nuclear or radiological emergencies, one of the risks associated with the release of radioactive materials is environmental contamination by airborne particles, which may be inhaled, settle on clothing and skin, or come into contact with surfaces and objects.

The use of suitable respiratory protective equipment can help reduce the inhalation of certain airborne contaminants, while appropriate protective clothing can act as a physical barrier against the deposition of particles on the body and clothing.

This solution is designed for integration into individual and family emergency preparedness plans, emergency equipment reserves, bunkers, protective shelters and other facilities where it is important to have personal protective equipment organised and readily accessible.

 Waterproof Bag | 30 Litres

The 30-litre waterproof bag is designed to facilitate the storage, organisation and transport of protective equipment and other essential emergency supplies.

Made from durable PVC tarpaulin, it features a flexible, lightweight and wear-resistant construction, suitable for different transport and storage conditions.

The Roll-top closure system allows the upper opening to be rolled down and secured with fastening buckles, creating a barrier against water, moisture, sand and dirt when properly closed.

This closure system also allows the bag's volume to be adjusted according to its contents, while its flexible construction facilitates storage in cupboards, vehicles, emergency storage areas and shelters.

The additional document pouch provides storage for passports, identification cards and other personal documents. The transparent waterproof phone pouch is designed to protect the device from contact with water while allowing the screen to remain visible during water-related activities, within the manufacturer's specified operating limits.

Technical Specifications:

  • Capacity: 30 litres.
  • Material: durable PVC tarpaulin.
  • Closure system: Roll-top with fastening buckles.
  • Approximate dimensions: 46 cm high x 30 cm wide.
  • Flexible and wear-resistant construction.
  • Protection against water, moisture, dust and dirt under the intended conditions of use.
  • Carrying straps for transport.

NBC/CBRN BS-FFM Full-Face Respirator

The NBC/CBRN BS-FFM is a full-face respiratory protective device designed for use in environments where certain airborne chemical, biological or radiological contaminants may be present, depending on the filter used and the exposure conditions.

Its structure fully covers the face, protecting the respiratory tract, eyes and facial area, allowing respiratory protection to be combined with a facial barrier.

The respirator body is made from flexible liquid silicone, a material that adapts to facial contours and helps provide an effective seal when the equipment is correctly fitted.

The cylindrical panoramic visor, made from polycarbonate, provides a wide field of vision, including peripheral visibility. According to the product specifications, it features anti-fog properties and scratch resistance, characteristics particularly relevant for use in demanding conditions.

The adjustable five-point head harness distributes pressure across the head and allows the respirator to adapt to different facial anatomies. The internal oronasal mask helps manage airflow and reduce the accumulation of exhaled air within the breathing area.

The BS-FFM also features an exhalation valve and an integrated speech diaphragm designed to improve verbal communication during use.

Technical Specifications:

  • Model: BS-FFM.
  • Type: full-face respiratory protective mask.
  • Body material: flexible liquid silicone.
  • Visor: panoramic polycarbonate.
  • Visor shape: cylindrical.
  • Anti-fog properties, according to the supplied specifications.
  • Adjustable five-point head harness.
  • Internal oronasal mask.
  • Exhalation valve.
  • Integrated speech diaphragm.
  • Connection for 40 mm RD40 respiratory filters.
  • Replaceable filtration system.
  • Respiratory protection depends on correct fitting, an effective facial seal, filter compatibility and classification, and environmental conditions.

NBC/CBRN A2B2E2K2P3 RD40 Filter

The NBC/CBRN A2B2E2K2P3 combined filter is designed to provide respiratory protection against certain categories of gases, vapours and airborne particles, according to its classification and applicable operating limits.

It features an RD40x1/7" threaded connection, compatible with respiratory protective equipment that uses this type of connection.

The filtration system combines activated carbon, designed to retain certain gases and vapours, with a glass microfibre filtration medium for particle retention.

The A2B2E2K2P3 classification identifies the different categories of contaminants covered by the filter.

Protection Classification:

  • A2 . Organic gases and vapours: protection against certain organic compounds with boiling points above 65 °C, such as toluene, benzene and styrene.
  • B2 . Inorganic gases and vapours: protection against certain contaminants, such as chlorine, hydrogen sulphide and hydrogen cyanide, within the applicable operating limits.
  • E2 . Acid gases and vapours: protection against certain acid gases and vapours.
  • K2 . Ammonia and derivatives: protection against ammonia and certain organic amines.
  • P3 . Particles: filtration of airborne solid and liquid particles, including dust, fumes, aerosols and particles potentially contaminated with radioactive materials.

The P3 component is particularly relevant in situations where radioactive particles may be suspended in the air, as their retention can help reduce the risk of internal contamination through inhalation.

It is important to distinguish between filtering radioactive particles and protection against the ionising radiation they emit. A respiratory filter may retain certain airborne particles, but it does not provide shielding against external radiation.

Technical Specifications:

  • Classification: A2B2E2K2P3.
  • Type: combined filter for gases, vapours and particles.
  • Connection: RD40x1/7" thread.
  • Housing material: ABS.
  • Filtration media: activated carbon and glass microfibre.
  • Unit weight: 385 g.
  • Specified storage temperature: -10 °C to +55 °C.
  • Specified operating temperature: 0 °C to +60 °C.
  • Specified relative humidity: 20% to 95%.

The service life of each filter depends on the type and concentration of contaminants, environmental conditions, respiratory effort and the manufacturer's specifications.

Filters should be stored in their original packaging and used within the indicated expiry date.

Disposable Protective Coverall

The disposable protective coverall is designed to complement respiratory protective equipment by providing body coverage and creating a physical barrier between the wearer and certain contaminants present in the environment.

In radiological contamination scenarios, radioactive particles may settle on clothing and exposed surfaces. The use of suitable protective clothing can help limit direct contact with these materials and facilitate procedures for removing potentially contaminated clothing.

The effectiveness of the protection depends on the coverall's construction, material properties, classification and correct use in combination with other personal protective equipment.

Body protection should be selected according to the identified risks, particularly the possible presence of solid particles, aerosols or liquid contaminants.

Intended Functions:

  • Body coverage in situations involving exposure to certain contaminants.
  • Physical barrier against particle deposition, according to the coverall's classification.
  • Complementary respiratory and facial protection.
  • Single-use application, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Support for personal protection and decontamination procedures.
  • The disposable coverall does not replace radiological shielding systems and does not, by itself, provide protection against external ionising radiation.
